SSC CHSL Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 2536 Posts

The Staff Selection Commission released the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination 2026 notice on September 7, 2026. The examination will recruit candidates to Group C posts in central government ministries, departments, offices, constitutional bodies, statutory bodies and tribunals.

The commission has announced approximately 2,536 tentative vacancies. Final post-wise and category-wise vacancies will be published later on the SSC website.

SSC has reported approximately 2,536 tentative vacancies. The number may change after the commission scrutinizes vacancy information received from participating departments.

SSC does not collect state-wise or zone-wise vacancies for this examination. Candidates should check the tentative-vacancy section of the official website for future post-wise and category-wise details.

Educational Qualification

For LDC/JSA and most DEO/DEO Grade A posts, candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or university by October 7, 2026.

For specified DEO/DEO Grade A posts in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Staff Selection Commission and Ministry of Culture, candidates must have passed Class 12 in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject.

Candidates awaiting their Class 12 result may apply, but they must possess the required qualification by the cut-off date.

Nationality

An applicant must satisfy the citizenship or eligibility-certificate conditions stated in the official notice. Indian citizens and other eligible categories listed by SSC may apply subject to documentary requirements.

Eligible SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, ex-servicemen and other notified categories can claim upper-age relaxation according to government rules. Candidates must possess the relevant certificate when required.

The fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, net banking or supported debit cards. A non-exempt candidate’s application may be rejected as incomplete if SSC does not receive the fee by the deadline.

The examination is conducted in two tiers:

1. Tier I: Computer-based objective examination.
2. Tier II: Computer-based sections followed by the applicable skill test or typing test.
3. Document verification: Conducted by the allotted user department or ministry.

Final allotment depends on merit, post preference, available vacancies and fulfilment of post-specific eligibility requirements.

Tier II is conducted in two sessions on the same day.

Session I lasts 2 hours and 15 minutes. Session II covers the applicable skill or typing test. Candidates should read the official notice for qualifying standards and post-specific skill-test requirements.

• Category, PwBD, ESM or age-relaxation certificate, where applicable

1. Visit the official Staff Selection Commission website at ssc.gov.in.
2. Complete SSC One-Time Registration or log in with your existing credentials.
3. Open the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination 2026 application.
4. Enter personal, educational, category and communication details carefully.
5. Complete the required photo/signature capture or upload process shown on the portal.
6. Select examination centres and provide post-related preferences where requested.
7. Preview the entire application and correct any visible error.
8. Pay the ₹100 fee if you are not eligible for an exemption.
9. Submit the application and confirm that its status is complete.
10. Download the final application and payment receipt for your records.

SSC will open the application correction window from October 14 to October 16, 2026, up to 11:00 PM. Only candidates whose completed applications were received within the application period can use this facility.

• First corrected and resubmitted application: ₹200
• Second corrected and resubmitted application: ₹500
• No additional correction opportunity is permitted after the second resubmission.
