UP Primary Teacher Recruitment 2026: Apply 12,405 Posts

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) conducts this state-level competitive recruitment drive to select primary educators (Class 1–5) for urban primary institutions under the Basic Education Department and non-government aided schools under the Secondary Education Department. Appointed Assistant Teachers receive regular Pay Level-6 benefits under the 7th CPC along with Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and medical benefits.

Prescribed Age Limits (Calculated as on July 01, 2026)

• Assistant Teacher (Urban Area Primary): 21 to 40 Years (Born between July 02, 1986, and July 01, 2005).
• Assistant Teacher (Sambaddh Primary Aided): Minimum 21 Years (Maximum up to 62 years superannuation limit).
• OBC / SC / ST Domiciles of UP: 5 Years upper age relaxation (Up to 45 Years).
• Divyangjan (PwBD) Candidates of UP: 15 Years upper age relaxation (Up to 55 Years).
• Ex-Servicemen (ESM): 3 Years relaxation in addition to the length of service rendered.
• Shiksha Mitra: Upper age relaxation permissible up to 60 years in accordance with state guidelines.

Selection Procedure

• Written Examination: State-level objective examination evaluating General Hindi, General English, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Teaching Methodology, Child Psychology, General Knowledge/Current Affairs, Logical Reasoning, and Information Technology.
• Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must present all original academic records, training certificates, and category documents for scrutiny.
• Final Merit List: Formulated based on candidate scores secured in the written examination alongside applicable regulatory weightages.

• Active One-Time Registration (OTR) profile on upessc.up.gov.in
• Government-approved photo identification (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, or Driving License)
• High School (Class 10th) mark sheet and passing certificate for Date of Birth confirmation
• Intermediate (12th) passing certificate and mark sheet
• Graduation Degree mark sheets and passing certificate
• D.El.Ed (BTC) / B.El.Ed marks statement and diploma/degree certificate
• UPTET Paper-I or CTET Paper-I qualifying scorecard and eligibility certificate
• Uttar Pradesh Domicile / Niwas Praman Patra (mandatory for category reservation benefits)
• Caste / Category Certificate (OBC-NCL, SC, ST, EWS) in prescribed UP state format
• Clear digital scanned passport-size color photograph and candidate signature

1. Open the official recruitment portal of UPESSC at upessc.up.gov.in.
2. Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process if visiting the portal for the first time.
3. Log in to your candidate dashboard using your OTR number and OTP authentication.
4. Locate the notification panel titled “Assistant Teacher (Primary Class I to V) Recruitment 2026 – Advt No. 05/2026”.
5. Click on Apply and verify your personal and communication details loaded from the OTR repository.
6. Enter academic credentials, D.El.Ed/B.El.Ed marks, and UPTET/CTET Paper-I roll number and scores.
7. Submit district posting preferences across eligible urban circles in Uttar Pradesh.
8. Upload scanned copies of required photograph, signature, and mandatory academic/category documents.
9. Review the full application form in the preview window to detect and rectify any typographical errors.
10. Pay the non-refundable application fee (₹1,000 for General/OBC/EWS, ₹500 for SC/ST, ₹300 for PH) via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
11. Submit the form and download the final application confirmation receipt for documentation records.
