UPSSSC PET 2026 Online Form: Exam Date & Syllabus Out

The Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) is administered annually by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission to standardize shortlisting for subsequent Group ‘C’ Mains recruitment drives (including Lekhpal, Junior Assistant, VDO, Forest Guard, Tubewell Operator, and Technical cadres). Qualifying PET with a competitive percentile is mandatory to appear for any future departmental Mains examinations announced by UPSSSC.

Age relaxations apply to domicile residents of Uttar Pradesh in accordance with state government reservation policies:

• Scheduled Castes (SC) / Scheduled Tribes (ST) of UP: 5 Years upper age relaxation (Up to 45 Years)
• Other Backward Classes (OBC – Non-Creamy Layer) of UP: 5 Years upper age relaxation (Up to 45 Years)
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (Divyangjan – PwBD): 15 Years relaxation (Up to 55 Years)
• Ex-Servicemen (ESM) of UP: 3 Years relaxation after deduction of military service rendered
• Skilled Sports Persons of UP: 5 Years upper age relaxation
• Candidates from Other States: Evaluated under the Unreserved (General) category without age concession.

Examination Framework

• Test Medium: Offline OMR-based written examination.
• Total Questions: 100 Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
• Total Marks: 100 Marks (1 mark for each correct answer).
• Duration: 2 Hours (120 Minutes).
• Negative Marking: One-fourth (0.25 marks) deducted for every incorrect attempt.

• Active personal mobile number and primary email ID for OTR and SMS notifications
• Aadhaar Card or authorized government photo identification (Voter ID, PAN Card, Driving License)
• Class 10th (High School) marksheet and certificate indicating candidate name and Date of Birth
• Class 12th (Intermediate) and Graduation/Higher qualification certificates (if claiming higher qualification points)
• UP State Domicile / Residence Certificate (mandatory to avail category reservation and fee concessions)
• Caste / Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS) issued in the prescribed Uttar Pradesh state format
• Scanned passport-size color photograph taken against a clear background
• Scanned signature image matching UPSSSC dimensional guidelines

1. Open the official portal of UPSSSC at upsssc.gov.in.
2. Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the portal if applying for the first time.
3. Navigate to the “Live Advertisements” segment and select “Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026 – Advt No. 16-Exam/2026”.
4. Click on Apply and authenticate your login using your OTR number or registered mobile number with OTP.
5. Check the pre-filled candidate details fetched from the OTR repository and provide additional academic information.
6. Verify High School board credentials, roll number, year of passing, and overall percentage/grades.
7. Upload recent passport-sized color photograph and signature as per prescribed pixel and file-size specifications.
8. Preview the entire application form thoroughly to identify and correct any typographical errors.
9. Remit the non-refundable registration and examination fee online via SBI Collect, Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or UPI.
10. Submit the form and download the final application confirmation slip bearing the registration number for examination use.
