What Is UPSSSC PET?

UPSSSC PET is a state-level preliminary eligibility examination. It provides a common screening system through which the commission can shortlist candidates for subsequent stages of applicable recruitments.

PET does not announce a fixed vacancy. Vacancy numbers, post-wise eligibility and final selection stages are published later through separate recruitment notifications.

A PET score may be required for applicable recruitments such as Revenue Lekhpal, Village Development Officer, Junior Assistant, Forest Guard, Stenographer and other notified posts. These are examples only; candidates must read each recruitment notification separately.

What Happens After PET?

Qualifying PET does not guarantee a government job. When UPSSSC publishes a relevant vacancy, candidates must submit a separate application and meet its qualification, age, category and PET-score requirements.

A later selection process may include shortlisting based on PET score, a main written examination, skill or typing test, physical test, document verification and medical examination. The applicable recruitment notification determines the actual stages.

The PET 2026 score is reported to remain valid for three years from the result declaration date, subject to the commission’s rules.
