Sahara Refund Portal Registration: If your money is also stuck in Sahara, then you will have to apply on Sahara Refund Portal to get your money. So far, more than seven lakh investors have applied under this portal. These people have so far registered to claim You must have some necessary documents to apply. If you do not have this document then your money will not be refunded. Also, the application can be canceled. Application on Sahara Refund Portal can be made on behalf of only four cooperative societies. These societies are Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, Hamara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, and Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited.

Introduction

The Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS), which is part of the Ministry of Cooperatives in the Government of India, has successfully launched the Sahara Refund Portal. This portal represents a ray of hope for about 10 crore Sahara Group members, as it wants to refund approximately Rs. 5,000 crore to people whose investments have been trapped for an extended time. On July 18, 2023, the Hon’ble Union Minister for Home & Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, officially launched the Sahara Refund Portal. The portal’s user-friendly interface ensures that even those with low online expertise can readily retrieve their money.

Sahara Refund Portal Registration

The Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) initiates the Sahara Refund Portal registration procedure. Investors in the Cooperative Societies of the Sahara Group can easily register on the portal to obtain their refunds. 

  • Step 1: Enter your Membership Number.
  • Step 2: Enter the Last four digits of the Aadhaar Number that is linked to your Mobile Number.
  • Step 3: Verify the OTP you have received.
  • Step 4: Enter the required details.

How many days will you get the money?

The application will be verified by the Sahara Group of Co-operative Societies within 30 days of the submission of the application. The decision will be communicated through SMS/portal within 15 days within 45 days from the date of submission of an online claim.

Depositors are requested to submit all the claims relating to all four societies in a single claim application form.  You can only claim lodged online through the portal https://mocrefund.crcs.gov.in/.

How much can you claim from Sahara Refund Portal?

The Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) initiates the Sahara Refund Portal registration procedure. Investors in the Cooperative Societies of the Sahara Group can easily register on the portal to obtain their refunds. Eligible investors who deposited ₹10,000 or more can receive the first payment of up to ₹10,000.

The total refund amount allotted is ₹5,000 crore. Depositors of Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited and Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited with outstanding balances before March 22, 2022, are eligible for a refund.

Depositors of Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited who have unpaid dues by March 29, 2023, are also eligible for reimbursement.

Sahara Refund Portal: Documents needed

  • Membership Number
  • Deposited Account Number
  • Aadhaar linked with an active mobile number
  • Certificate/Passbook details of the deposit
  • PAN card for claim amounts of Rs 50,000 and above.

Why Is My Registered Mobile Number Not Receiving My OTP?

There could be a variety of causes for an OTP (One-Time Password) not being sent to the registered cellphone number during the Sahara Refund Portal registration procedure. 

  • Network Problems: There could be temporary network issues that prevent the OTP from reaching your mobile number.
  • Wrong Contact Number: Verify that you registered with the right 10-digit Aadhaar-linked cellphone number.
  • Network Congestion: Heavy congestion OTP delay MESSAGES or causes them to be dropped entirely. 
  • Network Connection: Ensure that the internet connection is on.
  • Clear Cache: Clear your browser cache memory.
